San Francisco Shock member and two-time Overwatch League champion Super has retired

One of the most decorated Overwatch players is leaving the competitive scene behind.

With only a couple of months until the 2022 Overwatch League season begins, the San Francisco Shock's Matthew "super" DeLisi has made the decision to retire from competitive Overwatch.

Revealed by the Shock in a tweet that said, "super has been a cornerstone to not only the Shock but also Overwatch esports as a whole. As of today, he will be stepping away from our competitive roster. Thank you, for 4 incredible seasons."

Super is one of the most decorated Overwatch players of all-time, with two Overwatch League championships, a World Cup Championship, and a Stage, May Melee, Role Star, and an All Star win under his belt.

Talking about the retirement, Super posted an accompanying statement that thanked the Shock for his time with the team, as well alluding to his future plans, with that being, "I will continue to stream and will still be supporting the Shock in whatever capacity I can."
