Overwatch player Joonas 'Zappis' Alakurtti has announced that he's retiring from Overwatch for the time being, choosing to focus on his studies and having less time for gaming as a result.

"I would say the biggest reason would be my personal motivation to keep on playing as I feel I would not be able to give the game 100% anymore," he writes.

"Some of you may know that I finished my Bachelor's degree in law last year and I'm looking to finish my Master's degree this year. I'm also doing an internship early 2020 so I'm having less time for gaming in general. So taking a bit of a break from the industry for the time being and we'll see what happens in the future. I'm looking to stream more though, but what and with what schedule - I'll have to figure it out."

He thanks those who have supported him in the same post, and looks back on the opportunities the game has given him.

Will you miss Zappis?
