Portuguese football club Sport Lisboa e Benfica has revealed that it has entered the world of esports by signing FIFA player Henrique 'Zezinho' Lempke, who has played in the FIFA eWorld Cup on several occasions.

Zezinho will start competing for SL Benfica in the FIFA 20 Global Series qualifiers via the event in Atlanta, traveling to Portugal in February to meet Benfica fans at the club's stadium.

"Innovation is part of our DNA, Sport Lisboa e Benfica could not be indifferent to the growth of this virtual industry, and specifically esports. This is a first step in a bet for the future that will allow a greater involvement of our young fans in an activity that generates much passion and interest," said Miguel Bento, commercial and marketing director of SL Benfica.

More signings are promised in the future, but for now are you happy to see Zezinho on the team?
