He might not be the first football player and probably not the last one getting involved in esports, but Chelsea F.C. captain and Spain national team member César Azpilicueta launching eSports organization Falcons is still rather worthy of mentions. Azpilicueta is partnering with content creators José Antonio "Cacho01" and Jesús Rincón "Delantero09" who combined have more than 5 million subscribers on Youtube.
Falcons gets its start with a short roster of three FIFA 20 players. The roster features the winner of Spain's eCopa tournament and two-time qualified FIFA Global Series playoffs athlete Javier "JRA" Romero. While "JRA" is the chosen one to compete on the PS4 platform, streamer David "MáximoCuevas" will be his Xbox One counterpart. The first female player competing in the eLaLiga championship, Sandra Martínez "Sankhs" is also on the roster.
Falcons main goal is becoming an esports club for a broader audience. Any team member will be involved in content creation besides playing, such as tutorials, casting or live challenges on different social media and streaming platforms.
