The New York Excelsior has joined the rosterpocalypse madness of this Overwatch League off-season by releasing four of its players. The news, announced over Twitter comes shortly after Kim "Haksal" Hyo-jong revealed his intention to retire from competitive Overwatch.

The players leaving the franchise are; Yeonkwan "Nenne" Jeong, Hongjun "HOTBA" Choi, Dong-wook "BiaNcA" Kim, and Lee "WhoRU" Seung-jun.

The NYXL had a semi-successful performance over the last season, with the team finishing third overall in the Asian Overwatch League bracket. By only missing the Grand Finals due to a last stretch defeat to the Seoul Dynasty, the NYXL looked to be in a strong spot ahead of next season. These roster moves speak otherwise.
