The Toronto Defiant Overwatch League team has announced that Yang1 will be joining the team in an assistant coaching position. After the decision yesterday to release Dennis "Barroi" Matz, Yangwon "Yang1" Kwon will be coming to Toronto to bolster its coaching position after previously being part of the 2019 Vancouver Titans coaching staff, who finished as runners-up to the San Francisco Shock in the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals.

Toronto seems to be shifting to a more Korean-centric line-up, player wise, making the addition of another Korean coach all the more sensible. With this being said, Yang1's resume and success elsewhere in the League shows more than enough credit for him to be recognised as a desirable coach across the OWL.

Even with this new management addition, it is still challenging to suggest where the Defiant will sit in the 2021 Overwatch League season as its roster does have some high points, but compared to other teams across the League, it might struggle to compete.
