The Football Association are inviting gamers from all over the world to compete in a PS4 gaming tournament to be hosted at Wembley Stadium.

The tournament will see all sorts of gamers of many varying skill levels compete against each other in the FA's first ever video game tournament.

Registrations are open until the 18 March, and the event will replicate the FA cup with players drawn against each other, albeit in a one-day tournament.

One player/supporter will represent each of the 64 clubs from the third round of this year's FA cup, and the games will be played in a number of different locations around Wembley Stadium, such as the changing rooms, the dugouts, and even in the player's tunnel.

The final match will be held in the centre circle, and displayed on the stadium's 82-foot screens.

The Emirates FA Cup marketing manager, Lucy Roberts-Hartley, said: "We are expecting amateurs to face elite gamers, just as The Emirates FA Cup pits many David and Goliath fixtures. We hope the lure of playing everywhere from the iconic players' tunnel to the Wembley Stadium pitch will entice the very best gamers from across the globe."

Applicants selected to play in the tournament will be notified by 28 March, and the tournament itself is set to be held on May 7. Players wishing to sign up can do so here, and they better start brushing up on those FIFA skills if they're going to do their team proud.

REVIEW. Written by Ricardo C. Esteves

"In terms of licenses, general presentation, graphics and game modes, FIFA 16 is superb, as it always has been, but more importantly, gameplay has been improved in all sectors."
