As Encurio's website proclaims, Faith + Honor: Barbarossa is an RPG with a "focus on historical correctness", using research from universities and museums to do so, and we actually talked with managing director Sebastian Rahmel about what this all means at Gamescom.

"The game is a historically authentic RPG," he told us. "We're working together with universities and archaeologists to get it just right, just as it was in the 12th Century. So we're rebuilding parts of cities like Cologne, Constantinople, Milan [...] like they were in the 12th Century, and really let the player dive into the Medieval ages."

This sounds a lot like the premise offered by Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and you can find out more in the full interview below, talking about the research going into the game and the story behind the RPG.

Do you like the concept of historically accurate games?
