While many gamers consider microtransactions intrusive and that it in most cases distracts from the experience, there can be no doubt that they are extremely profitable and in some cases perfectly optional. This is something Bethesda has definitely learned through their free-to-play game, Fallout Shelter.

In a new report from Sensor Tower, it's been estimated that the game has raked in $93 million over the course of its life. The money primarily comes through the purchase of so-called Lunch Boxes, as well as cosmetic items sold in-game.

Despite being a few years old at this point, the report reveals that the game earned an estimated $212,000 during June 15th, 2018 alone.
