Fanatec, the German manufacturer of high-end sim racing hardware, has recently teased new products when speaking to Gamereactor - such as a new PS4 wheel and their own take on racing seats and VR - but before that the company is now introducing both an upgraded version of its central base and an inverted version of its pedal kit. Here are the key details for both:

ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 evolves what was included in the highly precise Wheelbase V2, by adding "more advanced electronics and a new motor for improved feeling, functionality and even higher durability". Here's a more detailed description:

"The electronics now feature a faster USB update rate of 1000 Hz and allow for firmware updates of the new motor driver. The tuning menu features have been improved, now featuring an advanced drift mode, which can now add a natural damper to avoid oscillation or a negative damper which will speed up the wheel while turning. The front plate of the CS WB V2.5 comes in a new finish, displaying the Fanatec logo."

The Wheel Base V2.5 retails for €549.95/$499.95, lower than its predecessor "due to strong demand", and so far it can only be purchased at the Fanatec Webshop. Besides, "all ClubSport Wheel Base V2 pre-orders will be delivered as V2.5 automatically".

A couple of weeks ago, Fanatec also introduced the ClubSport Pedals V3 Inverted, which other than offering the same setup as the turismo/rally cars, it also features fine-tune break and clutch pivot points for a more realistic feeling and response.

"The pedal set comes in a solid full-metal anodized aluminium design, delivering the same technology and performance as the ClubSport Pedals V3 that inspired them. The distance between the pedals is bigger than on the regular ClubSport Pedals V3 and the clutch mechanism and ergonomics have changed as well in order to simulate a high-performance sports car.

The electronics provide 12bit resolution (4096 values) on all axes and feature contactless hall sensors on the two pedal arms for throttle and brake. When you have to hit the brake hard, the load cell of the brake takes up to 90kg pressure. The pre-load screw allows for adjustment of the stiffness and travel of the brake pedal without using any tools."

Pedals V3 Inverted are also sold online and retail for €599.95/$499.95.
