Fez, the puzzle-platformer from Polytron and outspoken (ex-)developer Phil Fish, has sold one million copies since it was originally released on Xbox 360, it has been announced.

In a post on Polytron's website, the studio offered thanks to all those that had bought the game: "Fez has now sold over a million unit across all platforms. That's right, a cool mil! And we couldn't have done it without you! Thank you for buying the game! Thank you for stealing it! Thank you for telling your friends about it! Thank you for buying it again when it came out on PC! Thank you for boycotting it so well! Thank you for putting up with the bullshit! Thank you for all your love letters, fan art, cosplays and freakin' tattoos you got, you crazy bastards! Thank you, thank you, thank you! THANKS A MILLION!"

In a previous announcement on the same the sequel had been halted. Will fans of the original be hoping that reaching this milestone will be enough to spur Polytron into resuming working on Fez II? Don't hold your breath, but keep your fingers crossed.

REVIEW. Written by Ingo Delinger

"Fez manages to stand in the oversized footsteps of those Nintendo creations masterminded by Shigeru Miyamoto."
