Europeans love their football, that much is clear. They love it so much, in fact, that they picked EA Sports' FIFA 19 over every other game on the console market last year, making FIFA 19 the best selling console game of 2018, according to GfK Entertainment data.
This information was brought to us in English by outlets like Twinfinite, and this doesn't come as too much of a surprise since EA's Q3 earnings recently revealed FIFA 19 performed well for them despite the fact their financial results "did not perform to our expectations".
Now, the fact that the classic series still releases for the older formats helps a ton - but the series has still got it, bringing players in from all the corners of the European continent for some football action, even on Switch.
Just today we found out that the game is celebrating the Champions League knockout stage with new incentives for Ultimate Team, including new cover stars, so the road most certainly isn't over. These figures are also quite impressive when you consider Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, and more top games came out last year, and that FIFA 19 only released in late September.
Does this surprise you?
