The day before yesterday, Sony introduced the Official PlayStation League (link) at Santiago Bernabéu stadium, first eSports platform completely dedicated to one console.

It's a service which supports many PS4 games such as FIFA 15 or Call of Duty, completely free for PS Plus users and which pretends to "democratise" online competition by facing any type of gamers based on their PSN game history. It kicks off today in Spain and first season will be completed in January 2015.

Right before it kicks off properly, Gamereactor can confirm in advance how part of League's prizes will be, undoubtedly at the same time the biggest question mark of the service and the biggest hook to get the community involved.

Luis Bento, representative of the League, confirmed today that first prize of first season will consist at least in a whole year of PS Plus subscription and €1,000 to spend on PS Store. Second best player will get half that amount and a year of PS Plus, and there'll be prizes for top ten in the rankings. Additionally the best teams and best players in each game will get some prizes as well. As an example of game-specific prizes, the best Battlefield 4 player could get the new Battlefield: Hardline for free or additional DLC at no cost.

It's important to note that this information is, for the moment, only valid for the Spanish Liga Oficial PlayStation, and though the platform will launch soon in Portugal and Italy, prizes and structure may vary. Besides, prizes could be complemented with other articles or sums, probably depending on League's sponsors and partners. More details on this Official PlayStation League, soon with our complete interview. And we have yet to hear anything about the initiative spreading to more countries.
