Ultra Ultra, formed of former employees of IO Interactive, who you may know as the minds behind Hitman, is currently working on an action game called Echo, but PCGamesN recently spoke to CEO and game director Martin Emborg about Hitman, and IO Interactive's split with Square Enix, something which came as a surprised to Emborg.

"I have no idea why they did it," Emborg says in regards to the split, "but I have no doubt that IO will land on their feet and do something awesome," adding that this was even more surprising due to the fact IO had experience with episodic and service products. He also said he was pleased IO now have the rights to the Hitman IP, and he hopes "they use the independence to do something crazy; one of the main reasons for leaving was that you felt like you knew what the company would be doing for a long time."

Did the split surprise you as much as it did Emborg?
