Former Remedy CEO opens new studio

Matias Myllyrinne has a lot of company with him.

Redhill Games is a new Helsinki-based game studio created by ex-Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrinne, and joining him is talent from Wargaming, Guerilla Games, and Starbreeze, as GamesIndustry.biz reports.

Matias Myllyrinne will serve as CEO, while former Wargaming and Remedy technical director Mikko Uromo will be CTO, with ex-Wargaming development director Milos Jerabe taking the role of executive producer.

"Redhill Games represent the best of the best from all my years of experience, bringing together some of the industry's top professionals from various disciplines for a new adventure. These are people who have collaborated closely before, and I'm confident our best games are still ahead of us," says Mattias Myllyrinne.

The developers that have formed Redhill have a lot of experience with free-to-play titles and games-as-service projects, and that will be the focus going forward. Is that good news for you?
