You might have heard that a fair few legal claims have been launched against Epic Games' Fortnite recently, as rapper 2 Milly; internet sensation Orange Shirt Kid; actor Alfonso Ribeiro, and Russell 'Backpack Kid' Horning have all launched lawsuits against the developer over the use of emotes, which might explain why Playground Games and Microsoft's Forza Horizon 4 has cleaned out its offering of emotes as well.

More specifically it's the floss and the Carlton emotes that are gone, which is unsurprising given that they're both at the center of controversy with Fortnite. This week's updates removed them entirely, and we assume we won't be seeing any games in the future use them without serious consideration for the consequences.

Forza Horizon 4's Update 5 wasn't all about removing emotes though, as it also includes several features. Seven new Mitsubishi cars have been added for free, and fans are also getting a new Horizon Story composed of 10 missions driving an Austin FX4 taxi and the Cadillac TXS Limousine. A new solo mode to compete on the Online Adventure races, both ranked and unranked, has arrived too.

For more on the update take a look at the patch notes on the official website. Are you sad to see the floss and Carlton emotes go though?

REVIEW. Written by Kim Orremark

"It's genuinely fun, wonderfully beautiful, fast as hell, and well-stocked with both cars and content. And it all feels very familiar."
