It is no secret that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has been a failure so far. Despite a good number of people initially buying the game, the lack of content and substantial end game quickly turned people of FUncom's latest game. The company reports a loss of almost $23 million for the fourth quarter of last their fiscal year, and they have seen fit to write off much of the perceived value they previously saw in Age of Conan. It is estimated the game has somewhere around 100,000 subscribers at the moment and Funcom commented that numbers are rising slightly at the start of 2009.

Funcom still plan to put out an expansion for Age of Conan this year, and a Xbox 360 version has also been confirmed. Further down the line is the next MMO from Funcom - The Secret World.
