Finnish studio Housemarque has revealed the Furmins Free, a free version of Furmins HD, is now available to download from the AppStore.

Versions are available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and there a new features included in the latest instalment of the popular puzzler from the studio that teamed up with Rovio to work on Angry Birds Trilogy.

The new free to play version opens with one world fully unlocked - there's eight all told, and 108 levels - with others opened up once enough stars are earned (if you get stuck you can always buy stars - 100 stars is £0.79, 250 stars £1.49 and 700 stars is £1.99).

"We believe this step will allow us to tap into a brand-new audience," said Housemarque CEO Ilari Kuittinen. "We feel there are a lot of gamers out there who perhaps did not have a chance to play the original version, and so we wanted to offer them another opportunity."
