The playoffs for the 2019 Summer Split of the League of Legends European Championship have just concluded, and G2 Esports have shown their dominance once again with a victory in the finals, earning themselves a spot at the World Championships this winter.

Early on G2 played fellow titans Fnatic, winning a close 3-2 tie to send Fnatic down to face Schalke 04. Fnatic bounced back with a 3-0 victory to set up a rematch once again, fueling the rivalry and keeping anticipations high. The fans were rewarded too, as it was another close 3-2 tie to decide it, with G2 just edging ahead to become champions.

This is the latest in a long line of successes for G2, and all eyes now turn towards Worlds, with fans hoping that Europe can get the win, or perhaps North America, making a change from the norm.

Did you expect G2 to win?
