Esports organisation Gen.G has revealed its brand new Overwatch roster for the developmental Contenders league in Korea, which is part of their restructuring to acquire new players other than Seong 'WooHyaL' Seung-hyun.
Choi 'Wekeed' Seok-woo is coming in from Overwatch League team Seoul Dynasty (also operated by Gen.G), who will be joined by Ham 'Oberon' Eun-sang, Kim 'Fuze' Tae-hoon, and young talents Lim 'Glister' Gil-seong and Kim 'Creative' Young-wan.
"We tried our best during off-season to recover from last season, and increase our expectations of our team for the fans who are supporting Gen.G," explained Si-woo Lee, manager of the Contenders Team. "We are anticipating a lot for this season with the high-quality players that have joined our team. Since our team members have gone through a number of challenges last season, we have a strong ambition to become the best team. Our coaching staff has also stepped up through challenging circumstances. We will continue to make an effort to play as a team and maximize our capacity."
"We have a short amount of time and a lot of work to do, but our players are eagerly practicing, and we will try our best to become a team that lives up to our reputation as team 'Gen.G'. Our team will try our best to become the potential winner in 2019 season."
Park Si-hun has also come on board as a scout, who can hopefully bring in more talent in the future. With this new squad also comes the loss of Um 'Umtae' Tae-hyeong, Kim 'LUKE' Hyun-jun, Bang 'Shubil' Min-jun, Ye 'Agnes' Hyun-Seo, and Moon 'LVLZ' Sung-min, who have had their contracts ended.
Can Gen.G perform better in 2019 Contenders?
