When the massive Dota 2 tournament ESL One Frankfurt takes place this weekend, the finals won't just be shown online. At least not in Germany, as German sports channel Sport1 has picked up broadcast rights for the event.

Sport1 mostly deals in football, handball and motorsports, but has increased their esports coverage lately.

They are not alone in that push. In the US, Turner-owned network TBS has poured a ton of money into their in-house Counter-Strike league Eleague. Meanwhile, Swedish national broadcaster SVT has had live broadcasts from the DreamHack Winter and DreamHack Summer finals for years.

ESL One Frankfurt takes place in the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Germany this weekend. Games kick off on Saturday, and teams like Fnatic, Team Liquid, OG, Alliance and Na'Vi are attending. The event features a $250,000 prize pool, and ESL are also claiming they'll have the biggest screen for any Dota tournament ever at the arena.
