Ubisoft has revealed that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is getting a free special mission linked to the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier franchise, featuring characters Scott Mitchell and John Kozak in Special Operation 3.

This is the third major update for the game's Year 2 content, letting you team up with both of these soldiers for a free two-part event starting today. Future Soldier content is coming as a part of this, including two PvP classes and a PvE mission called Operation Silent Spade, which sees you help Mitchell and Kozak investigate a plot linking the cartel to a nuclear threat, either alone or in co-op. Upon completing this mission you'll get the Optical Camo backpack, and you can use the Silent Space Pack to get a new weapon and customisation items.

In terms of PvP, Vanguard and Sharpshooter are the new classes, with the former using sensor grenades to discover enemies, while the latter charges shots to negate sway and bullet drop. PvP maps Lithium Mine and Outskirts will be added on top of this as well.

The Year 2 pass gives you seven days early access to the new classes starting today, not to mention an exclusive customisation pack, but if you don't have the pass you can play with these new classes on December 18.

We even have a trailer for this crossover event below. Are you a Future Soldier fan?

REVIEW. Written by Matti Isotalo

"There are only a handful of big-budget open-world games with campaign co-op as good as this."
