It's tradition that Ubisoft closes their E3 press conference with a bang, and this year was no different. Although this time around we saw a game from a franchise that we all know and love, it certainly wasn't what we had expected.
The final game on show during the event was a returning military shooter series, although it took very a different form to previous entries. Ghost Recon: Wildlands was the headline act of Ubi's show, and unlike previously linear mission-based games like Future Soldier, Wildlands features a massive open-world, with the Ghost Recon team taking apart a drug cartel through guerrilla warfare.
With the title closing the show we got to watch an extensive gameplay demonstration, with a sniper on a hilltop hitting targets from range, while the rest of the team moved in for close-quarters combat.
Cue lots of ferocious gun battles, take downs, and plenty of third-person combat, mixed up with some eye-catching cinematic footage. We certainly can't wait to see more. In the meantime we'll have to settle for the following trailer and screens.
