Ubisoft has revealed the contents of Special Operation 4 for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, which is the last free content update for the second year of the game, landing today on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The new trailer below shows of the new PvE mode called Guerrilla, which is a challenge you can play either alone or with buddies. You'll need to defend points against the Cartel and Unidad in waves, and after each wave you can upgrade weapons, skills, and attachments with resources from your dead foes, and it'll get increasingly harder as you'd expect.

We've also got a new PvP class called the Sapper, which is a Support class deploying a drone that can shoot concussion mines to drain enemy stamina and slow down their rush. On top of that we get two new PvP maps and two PvP events - Arms race, where players only spawn with pistols and need to forage for better weapons (similar to battle royale game), and Danger Zone, where players are periodically hit with ultrasonic blasts to keep them moving.

Other features have been addressed after community feedback too, like a time of day setting for solo campaign and a new bleeding notification in Ghost War. We've also now got a compass HUD option in PvE, daily campaign challenges with increased rewards, and a Heatmap view so players can see the most visited locations in the game too.

The Year 2 pass offers seven-day early access to the new class, alongside an exclusive Active Duty Pack starting today. Other players can access the new Sapper class on March 6 though, so if you're waiting you might want to check out the screens and trailer below.

REVIEW. Written by Matti Isotalo

"There are only a handful of big-budget open-world games with campaign co-op as good as this."
