We recently caught up with Ghost Ship Games' Søren Lundgaard and Mikkel Martin Pedersen to learn about the road ahead with Deep Rock Galactic that's spent some time in Early Access on Steam and Xbox Game Preview on Xbox One.

"It's been an amazing experience," says Søren Lundgaard of the time spent in Early Access. "We went out very excited, how will people receive this, how will people like it? We got awesome reviews, awesome feedback. A big community that is growing. We're selling more than we need and everything is good. It's fun I think we're living the Steam Early Access dream you could say."

First up of the new content in September are update 16 that adds the Glacial Strata biome, and update 17 that adds the Abyss Bar to your space rig, a social space of sorts (no dwarf tossing, though, we're told).

"[The Glacial Strata] is basically an ice layer underneath surface of planet Hoxxes where you can explore," says Pedersen. "So we have a lot of new cold gameplay mechanics, ice lakes you can skate on, crevasses that can appear under where you can fall down, we have flowers that can freeze you up so you're completely frozen and then your friends can come and get the ice off you and you can get free of it."
