Ubisoft usually likes to save a surprise for the end of its E3 conference, and this year's event was no different, with the publisher unveiling Gods & Monsters, a completely new IP. Indeed, Marc-Alexis Cote, the senior producer of the title in question, took to the stage to introduce this new game and explain why it's based on mythology.

The sneak peek that Cote described was little more than that, although we did get to see a game world that evoked a similar spirit to that of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, what with its rolling green hills populated by strange beasts. At the end, we got a scene that suggested that players will be slaying mythical monsters, such as the winged creature that featured at the end of the trailer.

Once we'd got that little glimpse of the game, all that was left to do was close out Ubisoft's conference with the news that Gods & Monsters will land on February 25, 2020. No platforms were mentioned during the event, but you'd have to assume that the game is heading to PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
