Rhodri Broadbent founded Dakko Dakko ("hug me") after a great experience in the Japanese, multi-culture studio Q-Games working on Sony and Nintendo platforms. Now they want to push original and simple game ideas, for example making use of the dual screen concept.

On Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails:

"This game is entirely abstract concept really. It's about a character who's running around a space station trying to find his lost cat."

"You actually play as the buddy on rails who's traveling around this gigantic station exploring, shooting all the enemies trying to stop you from getting to your cat. They're all mice, obviously it's a cat versus mouse thing. It's an action-platform-shooting game based on interesting kind of rail-based platform."

Using the GamePad as main screen:

"The second screen of the Wii U is really interesting to us and we thought that... Sometimes when you're playing a game and your family, maybe your brother or a sister, they can kind of get involved just cause they're enjoying - they wouldn't want to play it themselves, they wouldn't want to pick up the controller, they find that stressful, but they just like watching it. We had this idea, because I love handheld gaming, and so because you'd be able to play the whole game on the GamePad, in your hands, then the TV could be other things that are just kind of entertainment for the rest of the room as well as extra information for you if you want it."

On working with Miyamoto for one day:

"He came to the office just to meet the developers and have a look at what we were doing [with Star Fox Command], and to kind of help with some design issues that we were having because the DS was so new at the time. It was a very nice day. I got to meet one of my childhood heroes who I really respected."

He also had more to say on game concepts with 2 screens, on-rails mechanics, PS Vita titles The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character and Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD, Q-Games and the mixed-culture company concept.
