We snuck into the offices of Over the Top Games to get an exclusive first look at Full Mojo Rampage, their first action-RPG. Get some insight into the gameplay mechanics, artstyle and humor and learn more about the Spanish indie studio that made NyxQuest.

"Full Mojo Rampage started as an experiment about creating a different type of game, different from what we've dome before. We did NyxQuest and Fancy Pants Adventures, which were platform games. Now we're going for a more 3D action with some soft role-playing type of gameplay. For us it's been a very challenging aspect of developing a new game, and right now most of the gameplay is done, most of the sceneries are do, we're trying to find a gameplay that matches the game," said programmer and designer Roberto Alvarez De Lara.

The art style in the new game is very different when compared to NyxQuest:

"We wanted to match the gameplay, that's quite black humor, has some dark side on it, but at the same point we didn't want to make a creepy Tim Burton style... so we were trying to achieve an artistic direction that is similar to the one that Monkey Island has. We wanted the player to remember that it's in New Orleans, but at the same time not to be as "Disney" as for example in The Princess and the Frog," explained art director Juan Ramón Alvarez De Lara.

A light-hearted action-RPG with topdown view that is being developed for PC (with possible console ports at a later date). Over the Top is using the popular "alpha funding" method, and hope to invite players who pre-order the game into a playable alpha very soon. The gameplay demo starts at around the 3 minute mark.

On the possibility of a NyxQuest sequel:

"Let's see what happens after this project when this project finishes, but we are keen on... knowing that probably in the future we're going to be able to have a NyxQuest 2," said Juan Ramón Alvarez De Lara.

"We actually created a video, that later with the camera off I can show to you, but it's something that's in the air."
