Guillemot on Michel Ancel: He can blow us away again

It's no secret that one of the most anticipated titles coming from Ubisoft (or more specifically Ubisoft Montpellier) is Beyond Good & Evil 2, and when we asked about Michel Ancel, creative director at the studio, when speaking with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot at Gamescom, he told us that it's a similar situation as with ex-DICE studio manager Patrick Bach, who's heading up a new Ubisoft studio in Stockholm.

"It's the same ideas with the newcomer Patrick [Bach] in Stockholm - you know that Michel [Ancel] has a good know-how and a good vision of what can be done, and you have to give him enough time to find what is going to change the world of video games," Guillemot explained. "So that takes time. It means trying things, stopping, coming back, but if you believe in the capacity of people, they will come eventually with something that will blow you away again, because they've done it before."
