Game writer Erik Wolpaw joined Valve in 2005, and he was a co-writer for games like Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal, and Portal 2 (so he's a talented guy). It was back in February 2017 when he decided to leave Valve, with other figures like Marc Laidlaw and Jay Pinkerton also leaving at a similar time, but since then Pinkerton rejoined Valve last July.

Now it's Wolpaw's time to return, as Shack News reports on the original source for this news - a screenshot of an email conversation with Gabe Newell.

It should also be noted that Eric Wolpaw is featured in the credits of Valve's latest game, Artifact. This means that Wolpaw has been working for Valve for some time already, even if it's only now we got to know about it.

This return of established writers to Valve may indicate that the company is again looking to make video games to secure their business, which may be wise considering the emerging competitors to Steam as a PC platform, including the Epic Games Store.

Are you a fan of Wolpaw's work?
