Hatoful Boyfriend: A "serious story" on dating birds

We sat down with a man (associate producer Luke Borrett) to talk about his pidgeon dating simulator over at Devolver Digital's trailer park at E3. Much awkwardness ensued. The game originally got some attention in flash form, but is now being remade by Mediatonic (Foul Play).

"It's very immersed in Japanese culture. If you know like the Persona games and 999... visual novels style gameplay. It's taking that and all the anime tropes, and dating sim tropes you'd ever know. And sort of mixing them up in a parody, but also doing its own serious story about why you are the only human at St. Pidgeonations High School and why you are dating birds."

Hatoful Boyfriend is due out on PC and Mac later this summer and may well be worth a look. Surely it's a one of a kind experience.
