The first week of the Gfinity Elite Series was a successful one for a number of teams, and now that the second week has passed Gfinity has provided us with three video recaps - one for each title - to give us an insight into who was hot and who was not, whether that be in the fighting fiesta of Street Fighter V, the virtual pitch of FIFA 18, or the vehicular action of Rocket League.

FIFA 18

Despite a slightly wobbly start in the opening week, Unilad pulled it back to defeat Ares 2-0 and show why they're the favourites for many, with Spencer 'Gorilla' Ealing redeeming himself to grind out a 1-0 win over Zac11Moore, his teammate Shellz getting another convincing win himself too.

Fnatic also got their first win over Epsilon, although the match between exceL and Nordavind was a 1-1 draw, seeing Tom 'Painter' Painter battle it out in a close match against Sabri 'Chnewar' Nait Slimani and Diogo 'Diogo_Peixoto' Peixoto dominate against Kevin 'Kev96' Connolly. Vitality also drew against EnVy too, only grabbing a point out of the matchup.

Rocket League

In Rocket League EnVy started Saturday with a 3-1 win over Nodavind (helped by players Alexandre 'Mout' Moutarde and Jordan 'EyeIgnite' Stellon in particular), the same margin by which Fnatic managed to beat Unilad, although this was a very close affair, Unilad actually claiming a 5-1 victory in Game 2.

Method and Ares' match was perhaps the most entertaining of the day, with underdogs Ares actually clinching the victory 3-2, although Method almost clawed it back when they won two games in a row after Ares went 2-0 up. This match had it all, be it dramatic goals and epic saves, and it's understandable Hashtag United and exceL didn't quite match that hype, even if there were still standout moments.

Street Fighter V

EnVy once again showed their dominance in Capcom's fighting game, beating Hashtag United 4-0 to show why they're the favourites, although Vitality looked impressive themselves when they beat Nordavind 4-2 to make up for their defeat last week, with Ilker 'TKR' Dovanci and Florent 'Linkexelo' Dubois looking particularly strong.

Ares also capitalised on last week's victory with another over Epsilon, showing why they're a team to be feared as well, and elsewhere Method showed their strength to bounce back from a 2-0 deficit to win 4-2 over Unilad, one that'll no doubt be disappointing for the latter considering their first week loss.

REVIEW. Written by Ricardo C. Esteves

"The free update isn't quite as good as a game created from the ground up especially for the World Cup, but it comes very close."
