Dynasty Warriors fans are no doubt excited for Dynasty Warriors 9, the next major instalment in the franchise, and now we've got some new details from Koei Tecmo about the game, courtesy of their website and some press releases.

"The story of the Three Kingdoms will be presented over ten riveting chapters, each reflecting changes in the balance of power in the world and in the available actions to the player," Koei Tecmo says. "Each Chapter takes the player a step deeper into the impressive military and political machinations of the era, beginning with the Yellow Turban Rebellion through the ultimate unification of China."

Players will then fill the role of a warrior and experience their journey through this story, of course participating in the brutal Musou combat that characterises the series. The game will include all 83 characters from Dynasty Warriors 8, as well as new gameplay and combat mechanics.

We still don't have a release date for Dynasty Warriors 9, even if we do know it's coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but we do have a whole load of screenshots we've included below. Are you hyped for its return?

REVIEW. Written by Sam Bishop

"Sure, the shift to open world wasn't really necessary, and doesn't really bring any huge advantages with it, but it's a very fun game nonetheless."
