Now that the highly anticipated No Man's Sky is out and the lid is off players are finally starting to sink their teeth in the massive space exploration game. However, it's been made clear that some of the features that developers Hello Games detailed in the past haven't found their way into the finished product.

With that in mind, the users of Reddit started digging up old interviews and so on to list all of the things that have been talked about for the game but aren't in place at launch. It turns out that the list is quite extensive.

So extensive, in fact, that it would be crazy to list it all here. Those of you who would like to read up on all the stuff that didn't make it into the game should go to the link above. Some notable examples, however, are the ability to land on asteroids, destroying space stations, being able to fly between star systems manually, being able to name your ship - and much, much more.

Another thing that sparked controversy last week was that two players on the same location at the same time couldn't see each other, but it's not been cleared up if that was by design or a server error.

Regardless, maybe this could be taken as a shining example of the potential dangers of promising too much and revealing games years ahead of their release.
