Here's your first look at the Sonic the Hedgehog film

There are a whole host of upcoming film adaptations of known game universes on the way, and one of them is a major motion picture based on the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog.

The film is slated for release in August of next year, and while no trailer has been released, we have our first look at the blue hero as he appears in the form. The first poster has been revealed through IGN's Instagram, which shows a little outline of the character.

The film stars Jim Carrey as villain Dr. Robotnik, as well as Ben Schwartz as Sonic, who you can see below in the poster.
