"Compared to the levels we've done before the locations here are up to six, seven times bigger," say IO Interactive.

With this year's Hitman building on the success of Absolution's Contracts mode, developer IO Interactive is making sure that its sandboxes are going to come packed with content.

Absolution was "was a story-driven game. This is a hit-driven game," explained production director Hakan Abrak as we talked to him during E3, and he says the "sandboxes that are more dense, deeper, complex, and bigger than ever."

"Compared to the levels we've done before the locations here are up to six, seven times bigger. these are the biggest and most complex sandboxes we've ever done."

The decision is to make sure there's plenty of choice for both studio and players to tinker with, with the game evolving from launch into 2016.

"We'll be releasing several big locations, story, hits and contracts as well. It'll grow, deepen and evolve from there, with more locations, more hits coming."

Abrak went on to echo Hannes Seifert's words about the title "not being Early Access or anything" but a full-formed title that'll roll out new content for free ("there'll be no micro-transactions, no hidden costs") once players have bought in to the sixty dollar base game.

"The journey goes on through to 2016. So everything, the new locations, the missions that come, some of them will be effected by the input we get from gamers and community.

"So if they think the disguise system could work better - we'll be listening."
