Houston Outlaws are a famous team in the world of Overwatch, playing in the Overwatch League and representing esports organisation OpTic Gaming, but now a new report from ESPN claims that Houston real estate investor Lee Zieben has agreed to terms with Immortals Gaming Club (who acquired OpTic's parent company earlier this year) to purchase the team for a deal valued at $40 million USD, according to alleged sources.
The deal is expected to be closed in late August, as the report tells us, and Overwatch League approval is pending, as league sources reportedly confirm. If this happens, Zieben will pay $30 million and assume $10 million debt in remaining payments to the Overwatch League for the franchise slot, according to ESPN's sources, and Immortals will still own OpTic after this deal is complete.
