A move from Valve and HTC regarding the Vive VR headset was expected after last week's CES show alongside the Oculus Rift launch details. Now, that move has happened, even if it's a something of a half-step: a pre-order date for the device has been unveiled, but not its final price.

Cher Wang, HTC chief executive, has just confirmed via the Telegraph that HTC Vive pre-orders will kick off on February 29. There's no further details, but the headset is still expected to hit shelves in early April 2016, slightly later than the originally expected Q1 release.

The final retail price is therefore to be announced during the coming weeks, and it should be around Oculus Rift's $600 dollars, with this being presented as another "premium" VR device.
