This past weekend the Intel Extreme Masters made its way to Oakland, with 6,500 viewers watching the action from inside the Oracle Arena, including victories for Ninjas in Pyjamas in CS:GO and Unicorns of Love in League of Legends, not to mention the extension of rivalry between Stanford and the University of California, Berkeley, into the realm of LoL.

Statistics about IEM Oakland have been released by ESL, and it was certainly popular elsewhere too. Streaming of the tournament took place in 14 different languages and the tournament peaked at 490,000 concurrent viewers worldwide. Online viewers watched a combined 6.4 million hours of content, with 130,000 unique viewers tuning in through VR, provided by Sliver.TV.
