Even though the full game still has a month and a day to go (read our final hands-on preview impressions here), avid fans have of course found many references by just carefully watching the footage released so far on the new God of War. For example, we've seen Hermes' boots and many other nods, but we wanted Santa Monica Studio's Cory Barlog to give us a little bit of a teaser of what to expect in terms of other secrets in the finished product.

"Teaser... I don't want to get specific because I don't want to spoil anything, but let me say this: I'm obsessed with Easter eggs and secrets," the creative director told us in the interview below, during the game's presentation in Madrid. "It is evident if you go and watch all the footage of the previous six, we've always put them. The first 2016 had the most Easter eggs of any of our sort of public-facing stuff. But the game itself - be aware that there are hidden things everywhere, and I literally mean everywhere".

Enough of a teaser? Well, the idea is not just to have fans find those secrets as something for completionists, but also to create some deeper connection to them. "It is a game that I want people thinking... something I hope that a year from now somebody goes 'oh my gosh did you know they have this?'," Barlog continued. "So it's a joy, I think, for all of us to participate in this feeling of a conversation with the player that may happen, that may finish a year from now".

You can find our full video interview below if you're interested. Will you be hunting for all the secrets in-game?
