The first version of the guidelines for Infinite Warfare's competitive play have been released, detailing the ins and outs of rules for the upcoming CWL that will utilise Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Before the rules are given, there is an introduction that reads: "The first season of the CWL was a huge success, but we also learned a lot. With those learnings in mind and working closely with active and retired professional players, the team at Infinity Ward has been dedicated to ensuring that the Infinite Warfare season of the Call of Duty World League will be entertaining, accessible, and most importantly, competitive. Decisions about which items to allow or restrict in competitive play alter the landscape for team strategies, and shape the season to come. To aid in the tuning process, the version one of the Call of Duty World League game settings is launching alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."

In terms of rigs, pending the addition of a weapon and combat rig draft system, each team of four will choose one rig, with no duplicates allowed. Also, each player will be restricted to two primary weapons, and primary weapons cannot be repeated either. Secondary weapons are not subjected to this weapon draft system.

There's a note that accompanies this section that reads: "We are currently in the process of fine-tuning the Weapon and Combat Rig Draft systems. The frequency of the Weapon and Combat Rig Drafts (per series vs per map) will be reevaluated in the coming weeks."

Hybrid weapons can be used too, but with limited functionality when used in the competitive ruleset, locking them into their primary functionality. The weapons affected are the Type 2, which will be assault rifle only; the RPR-Evo, which will be SMG only; the EBR-800, which will be sniper rigle only; and the OSA, which will be assault rifle only.

The team seem particularly unsure about secondary weapons, as they are outside the weapon draft system but can still be effective, so they are actively seeking feedback on three weapons: Oni, Hailstorm and Hornet.

In terms of maps for each modes, these are as follows:

Hardpoint

· Breakout
· Frost
· Mayday
· Precinct1
· Scorch
· Throwback

Uplink

· Frost
· Mayday
· Precinct
· Throwback

<b>Search and Destroy</b<

· Crusher
· Frost
· Mayday
· Retaliation2
· Scorch
· Throwback

There is also a full list of restricted items on the site, as well as the rules for each game mode, but as mentioned Infinity Ward are seeking feedback on what is essentially the first draft of the rules for the new CWL. What do you think of these rules?
