A trailer popped up on the ILMxLab website and YouTube channel for a title named Star Wars: Trials of Tatooine yesterday evening, and was then promptly taken down again. The video showed what seems to be footage of a Star Wars VR game where you wield a lightsaber to block and reflect blaster shots. While that may not sound particularly thrilling, that's all we have to go on currently.

The 50 second trailer shows the Millennium Falcon landing on a planet, presumably Tatooine, Imperial ships then dropping off Stormtroopers, R2D2 handing the player a lightsaber and then what seems to be gameplay of the player deflecting blaster shots.

It is yet unknown if this is a small part of something bigger, simply a standalone game, or a "Cinematic Virtual Reality Experiment" as we see at the end of the trailer. If it's the latter then it's unlikely we'll ever see it as companies often use these "experiments" to test out similar tech.

There's over 70 VR games at GDC 2016 this week, and you never know, Trials on Tatooine might be one of them.
