We've seen a whole load of different versions of Batman's arch-nemesis The Joker over the years, and now CinemaBlend has reported that Joaquin Phoenix's Joker film will be coming on October 4 next year, showing us an origin story as it joins the next Wonder Woman film and Shazam as DC releases next year.

The film is reportedly budgeted at $55 million USD, a lot cheaper than most DC films, and is being directed by Todd Philips (The Hangover) who co-wrote the script with Scott Silver. There are very little details so far, but it appears this will be more experimental than other films, and will run alongside Jared Leto's Joker at the same time.

Who can be the better Joker though: Leto or Phoenix?
