John Wick Chronicles locks at 45 FPS if 90 FPS isn't possible

This makes people nauseous, however.

Swedish studio Starbreeze recently released the VR title John Wick Chronicles for the HTC Vive, associated with the John Wick film, and even though the game itself is short and has been out for a week, there are close to no reviews out anywhere. Why? Because the game is one of the most demanding PC titles of all time, due to the Valve demand saying that the Vive will automatically lock to 45 FPS if your PC can't handle 90 FPS, and playing VR games in 45 FPS increases the risk of feeling nauseous.

Almir Listo, global brand director at Starbreeze, commented on the matter: "The reprojection system used by Valve will lock your VR frame rate to 45 FPS whenever your system is unable to maintain 90 FPS. The trade-off is that whilst it can be juddery, its consistency is better and less nausea inducing than letting the frame rate fluctuate all over the place, and it also helps approximate head tracking movement when the system might otherwise not have time to display your movement. There have been new optimisation made on this system to avoid this drop too frequently, but still, if it happens too often, it will cap at 45 FPS."

Is there a solution, or at least a happy middle-ground, for this issue?
