Although Killzone: Mercenary certainly went far to prove that great first person shooters are possible on PS Vita one point of criticism directed at Guerrilla Cambridge's game was the size of the download and more importantly the size of subsequent updates. This problem will be partially solved in the next few weeks as a patch (Update 3) designed to free up around 800MB of space on your memory card is set to be released.
The official PlayStation Blog also outline what subsequent updates will bring. First up in January Update 4 "is being designed to improve Matching and to help reduce join-game connectivity problems, as well as adding an auto team-rebalancing feature". The big one, Update 5, is due next and "includes two new MP maps for FREE; and the release of offline Botzone for Mercenary and Guerrilla Warfare modes (price TBC)". Update 6 will add further gameplay refinements and PS Vita TV support (where applicable).
Good news for those playing the game in other words as Guerrilla Cambridge appear very committed to updates and fixes.
