Maybe to accommodate a simultaneous console release.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open world medieval RPG originally funded on Kickstarter back in March 2014.

The developers, Warhorse Studios, initially turned to Kickstarter as they could not find support from a publisher, however as they came closer to their planned summer release date they reached out to an as yet unnamed publisher.

It seems that this publisher wants to release both the PC and console versions of the game at the same time, however the PC version is further through development than the console versions.

In a recent interview, Warhorse's PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwiling said: "We are still working on the summer release date."

He then followed this up by adding: "The idea was to release the game in the summer and then to follow up with the console versions. Right now we are still indie developers but we are in negotiations with publishers to, well, we need someone to bring the games into the shops, so we need a distributor, and he kind of wants us to synch it with the console versions. We are still in negotiations, we will see."

"Best case for you will be summer this year for the PC version and then with the follow-up for consoles; or if the publisher wants us to synch it we will release everything let's say by the end of the year, so we will see about that."

This delay in the release schedule may well allow the team to improve upon the PC version and potentially add in new features, we will have to wait and see.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance will start its beta phase on March 3, which promises to bring some major new features.

"Despite some frustrations, upon reflection, there's a lot to like about this medieval adventure."
