Kojima exits Konami, signs with Sony for PS4 exclusive

After many twists and turns, it's now done and dusted: Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has officially left Konami following a cooling off period after the launch of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

However, and as the saying goes, when one door closes it often leads to another opening. Kojima and his studio, Kojima Productions, have now entered into a partnership with Sony. His upcoming game will thus be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

"My employment contract with Konami has ben terminated as of Dec 15th, so today marks a new start for me. I'm committed to be involved in creative activities for as long as i live. Look forward to what's coming," he wrote on Twitter Twitter.

The company has a new website up and running, and earlier this morning they issued their first official press release, which reads as follows:

Kojima Productions announced today that it has officially opened its doors. Lead by award-winning game designer, Hideo Kojima, the studio will begin focusing its efforts in developing products that will push the boundaries in innovation and ignite consumer interest worldwide.
