Before Konami cancelled what appeared to be a fantastic horror game in the making, Cliff Bleszinski was invited by Hideo Kojima to work on Silent Hills, although the creator of Gears of War declined the offer.

It was Cliffy B himself that disclosed the information through his Twitter account, pointing out three understandable reasons to have rejected the project:

"I don't like LA, I love new IP, and I woulda fucked up SH."

As we already known Kojima would have collaborated with film director Guillermo Del Toro instead, in a project that impressed players with via the P.T. demo. Unfortunately Konami were none to happy with the costs Kojima ran up with MGSV, and Silent Hills was cancelled as Hideo Kojima's exit was negotiated.

We can't help but wonder what ideas someone like Cliff Bleszinski would have had for a game like Silent Hills? We would have bet on chainsaws somewhere along the line, that's for sure.
