It has been announced by THQ and Vigil Games that Jesper Kyd, the BAFTA award-winning Danish composer, has written the score for Darksiders II. Kyd's work has been described as "emotionally dynamic" and this score "combines dark ethereal themes and melodic fantasy".

Kyd has previous pedigree; he has previously written music for Assassin's Creed and the Hitman series. He commented: "Darksiders II is an awesome game and one of the most fun and creatively satisfying projects I have scored. I had a blast working with the team at Vigil."

"It's been an absolute pleasure working with Jesper," said Jeremy Robins, Audio Director at Vigil Games. "He's an extremely talented composer and an avid gamer, who not only created an amazing soundtrack for Darksiders II, but intuitively knew how to cater each composition to achieve maximum musical impact for players."

On top of signing Kyd for the game soundtrack, the Darksiders ad campaign will feature music written by renowned composer Giles Lamb, who won a Golden Lion at Cannes 2011 for his work on the trailer for Dead Island.

REVIEW. Written by Martin Eiser

"This is a fully playable comic book that's top notch from the beginning to - well, let's say, nearly the end."
