Nearly all sporting events around the globe have been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak - including all four major sporting leagues in the USA and many more around the world. It's thrust esports into the mainstream and now, the ever-popular LoL franchise will grace ESPN's big screens for the first time.

LCS - a competitive North American LoL league - will air their Spring Playoffs on both the ESPN app and on ESPN2. The franchise has been broadcast on the ESPN app before, but never on one of its terrestrial channels. It marks a radical surge in esports popularity over the past few years, and this current pandemic has further enhanced the industry's potential.

Evil Geniuses and Cloud9 will face-off live on ESPN2 from 4pm (local time) this Saturday. Cloud 9 has been outed as the clear favourites to win the 2020 Spring Playoffs and are expected to get off to a winning start tomorrow, and in-front of record-breaking numbers. More details here.
